Hi. I’m Carolyn. I love triathlons, music, and food. But mostly triathlons.  Here’s my story:

Oh hi there!

I’m a recent college graduate with a math degree working full time in the corporate world, while also training 15-20 hours a week for triathlon. Sometimes, when I’m not doing one of the aforementioned items, I have some extra time to eat and sleep.  I’m crazy busy, but I love it.

When I was in high school, I fell in love with running.  I ran varsity cross country and track (after realizing that I was terrible at soccer) and set lots of school records.  It was a small high school, but hey, I’ll take it.  After struggling with an eating disorder for a few years, I turned to running to get me through it.  I learned that by fueling my body, it could accomplish even greater achievements.  In college I went on to run my first half and full marathon.

I started doing triathlons in 2009, when a friend of mine asked me to join him in a triathlon the next day.  Since I was already a pretty fit marathon runner, who took cycling classes and occasionally swam at the gym, I thought I’d give it a go.  I was hooked.  I did a triathlon every weekend for the rest of that summer.  For the next couple years, I was what you’d call a “recreational triathlete”, completing tons of races for fun but not racing competitively.

After winning my age group regularly, I decided to take things a little more seriously this year.  I got a coach, upped my training, and have been crushing PR’s all season.  Someday soon, I hope to get my pro card!  I hope you enjoy my blog about my adventures along the way to this lofty goal.
